CLiF’S Summer Virtual Schedule

By Meredith Scott

July 15, 2022

Here at CLiF, we hope for sunny, hot days in July that draw our kids to all the best outdoor spots for hiking, swimming, exploring, and, of course, reading. Again this summer, we will host a virtual summer series for those needing a midday break and wanting to explore the summer reading theme – Oceans of Possibilities.

Join us for sessions hosted by three different CLiF presenters with different takes on the ocean theme:

· Thursday, July 21, 11:30am – Christy Mihaly

· Wednesday, July 27, 11:30am – Steve Swinburne

· Tuesday, Aug 2, 11:30am – Ted Scheu

Christy Mihaly will share her new book, Water: A Deep Dive of Discovery. Dive in, and immerse yourself in fascinating facts about water! Watch the trailer and read more here.

Steve Swinburne will tell stories, sing songs, and share poems about tide pools and sea turtles.

Ted Scheu, “That Poetry Guy,” will bring all the oceans of ideas, questions, facts, and stories into poems written by participants.

Please fill out this simple google form to receive the zoom link for the presentations. CLiF welcomes summer programs with students of all ages to attend. The programs will last about 30 minutes, and will not be recorded, so we hope kids come prepared to share and enjoy in some fun around reading, books, stories, and the oceans of possibilities!

Updates on library hours, events, and trustee meetings will be posted here, on Facebook, and Front Porch Forum, and in the News & Citizen. Masks are optional at this time. With your library card you can check out a book or a library pass, read an e-book or listen to an audio book at Listen Up! Vermont or with the Libby app. Do you want to read a newspaper or magazine, look up something you're interested in or help your child with a project or home school? Try the Vermont Online Library. Send us an email to get a library card or visit in person. The Waterville Town Library is run by a dedicated group of volunteers and our library trustees. We are always looking for new ideas and new volunteers. Help make the library a vibrant learning place: Sign up to be a volunteer. The next trustee meeting will be June 15, 2022 at 6:30pm. Send an email to librarian@watervillelib.org to receive our occasional newsletter and event updates, to use the library by appointment, to get a library card number or password. Please be patient if the library has to close due to volunteers not available to staff the library. Thank you.
